The Mystery of Reproduction: Humans reproduce by combining the DNA and molecules of sperm and egg cells to form a fertilized egg cell, which then develops into an fetus in a mother's womb.  Standard biology theory suggests that the DNA is the central actor coordinating this development, passing on the set of genes that provide the blueprints and instructions for the fertilized egg to develop into a human fetus with features inherited from both parents. While the Human Genome Project (HGP) identified over 20,000 genes in the human genome, none of these genes encode any aspect of cellular, organ, or bodily structure or function. Our DNA only contains templates for making proteins, the materials used to build cells. No genes encode information that specifies that humans should have 2 hands, 5 fingers, eyes, internal organs, a brain in the head, nor even that humans should have a head. Genes do not specify whether cells should have organelles, membranes, or a nucleus. Genes do not specify any of the shapes, sizes, functions, nor locations of any subcellular, cellular, organ, or bodily-scale structure or function. DNA has only been found to be a storage system for materials used to build and operate cells. It contains no blueprints nor instructions of any kind for how to build or operate organelles, cells, organs, or organisms.  This raises the question of how a fertilize egg can "self-assemble" into a human baby? There is presently no scientific theory that explains embryo development given the inadequacy of the information contained in DNA.
